This is not a real recipe. I hear that many people don’t like tofu. But I am sure that whoever says “I don’t like tofu” never had it nice cooked and marinated. It’s true that natural tofu has no taste but it sucks the aroma and flavor from whatever you cook it or marinate it with. This is one of my favorite marinates for grilled tofu. I used my tofuXpress to remove the water. TofuXpress is definitely my favorite gadget in the kitchen (along with my blender of course).
1 block of firm tofu (pressed/drained)
1 T.S. olive oil
1 T.S. soy sauce
1 t.s. liquid smoke
1/2 t.s. salt
1/2 t.s. dried oregano
1/2 t.s. dried parsley
1/4 t.s. fresh pepper
a pinch of dried thyme
Marinate the tofu for at least 2 hours and grill each side for 7-8 minutes. Serve with veggies of your choice.
I served mine with steamed broccoli and baby carrots
